Kim Whitely is the Older Adult Behavioral Health Program Planner for Clackamas County Behavioral Health. Kim has over 20 years of experience providing mental health services to vulnerable populations, including older adults. Her background includes conducting bio-psychosocial and programmatic assessments to develop/coordinate individual service plans and make recommendations for innovations in existing programs; she has extensive history of securing collaborative relationships with various community agencies to better serve clients; and as a specialist in Forensic Psychology she brings extensive knowledge and experience working closely with Law Enforcement agencies and diversion populations. Kim embraces a recovery oriented approach to treatment emphasizing hope, individual potential, and responsibility. Kim includes principles of gerontology, issues specific to the older adult population, and laws and practices related to elder and dependent adult abuse in her practice.
Kim has a B.A. in psychology and a Master’s in Forensic Psychology and is certified by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners as an Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia Care Trainer, a Dementia Practitioner and First Responder Dementia Trainer. In addition, Kim completed the 4 day Wraparound training with Portland State University in 2014 and is piloting this evidence-based approach with the older adult population in the TriCounty area.
